Respect for their individuality, and that even if you don’t agree or like someone you can still respect them. Respect for commitments and relationships.
I thought that a toxic family wasn’t an excuse for writing them off, but I was wrong…families that actively find ways to discourage you or make you feel “less than…” are simply toxic and need to be removed for your emotional health.
